The social systems that are in Redeployment is education and society. Education can be seen when the soldier is being condition to do his duty in war. Then there is also the effect of how this education affecting him in normal society. So as seen with this conflict is that when he is trying to readjust to normal society. Yet unfortunately that cause the problem of how they face an environment that he could not understand. There is also where he knew he had to take down the dog. This affecting him making it feel as if nothing was going to be felt. The problem with society is that they were not really caring that the man is having problems. But overall society unacceptance of this problem makes this story more interesting. Sin of ignorance seems to make some stories great. I just wish it did not transitioned into normal society as it had.

In 1951, at the age of 30, Henrietta Lacks, the descendant of freed slaves, was diagnosed with cervical cancer—a strangely aggressive type, unlike any her doctor had ever seen. He took a small tissue sample without her knowledge or consent. A scientist put that sample into a test tube, and, though Henrietta died eight months later, her cells—known worldwide as HeLa—are still alive today. They became the first immortal human cell line ever grown in culture and one of the most important tools in medicine: Research on HeLa was vital to the development of the polio vaccine, as well as drugs for treating herpes, leukemia, influenza, hemophilia, and Parkinson's disease; it helped uncover the secrets of cancer and the effects of the atom bomb, and led to important advances like cloning, in vitro fertilization, and gene mapping. Since 2001 alone, five Nobel Prizes have been awarded for research involving HeLa cells. This is a great part showing telling in the article. For it gives great example of what is going on and how affective this person is to health science. This is also shows on who the person the article is past was. They also reveal the importance of the cells and when this project was created. They also mention how useful these cells are and cure certain diseases. They also mention on how they got famous. Which is seen with the help of these cells gain a total of five nobel prizes. Which in today society showed importance of a successful project in whatever article that project takes place in the scientific world. Overall this part talks about the advents with no real showing of feelings. It shows more of information and results of these cells. They all stopped talking about the knot, and no one told Henrietta's husband anything about it. Then, four and a half months after baby Joseph was born, Henrietta went to the bathroom and found blood spotting her underwear when it wasn't her time of the month. She filled her bathtub, lowered herself into the warm water, and slowly spread her legs. With the door closed to her children, husband, and cousins, Henrietta slid a finger inside herself and rubbed it across her cervix until she found what she somehow knew she'd find: a hard lump, deep inside, as though someone had lodged a marble the size of her pinkie tip just to the left of the opening to her womb. Henrietta climbed out of the bathtub, dried herself off, and dressed. Then she told her husband, "You better take me to the doctor. I'm bleeding and it ain't my time." This I think is the best showing in the article about Herritta. In my opinion this part showed the lack of action before it got serious and were not disturbed about it. This also shows on how when it got serious did they do anything. Making it show that they would only panic if there is blood. Which in many cases is what humans do today. For when there is blood that is not ordinary people will worry. They would also panic about the situation if they did not know where it came from. It is unfortunate that others to live have to be fixed after her death. Yet if she did not do anything success may have come later but after much more death. If she did do something sooner though she may have still lived. This though is just hypothesis if she did do something sooner. Her family could have tried to help make a decision sooner to ask for help. Yet since that time period was the not most accepting they still may have not received help. The patients may have had not gotten the treatment. Yet much later the patients who receive helped may be gone. For these people seem to be helped from this research so in such there could possibly be more lives saved if Herritta went sooner and gave the cells or more would have died if she did not give the doctors her cells. |
